Solar Manufacturing Head

Job Purpose: We are seeking an experienced Solar Manufacturing Head to lead our projects in getting the solar PV module manufacturing operations, from line setup to installation & commissioning set up. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of solar cell & module production processes, manufacturing equipment, and lean manufacturing practices with a strong focus on efficiency, cost control, and product quality.

 

 

·        Engage with clients to understand requirements and execute the manufacturing solutions.

·        Engage with clients to assess manufacturing capacity requirements, process flow needs, and technology specifications.

·        Lead end-to-end manufacturing operations for the solar module production line.

·        Oversee plant setup, installation and service.

·        Stay updated on solar manufacturing trends, government incentives, and import/export regulations.

·        Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and technology partners.

·        Ensure smooth functioning of automated and semi-automated equipment.

·        Liaise with equipment vendors for installation, maintenance, and upgrades.

·        Build, mentor, and manage the manufacturing team (production, maintenance, quality, and supply chain).

·        Enforce EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) protocols.

·        Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

·        Implement lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen principles.

 

 

Reporting structure:       

·        This role will report into: Head – Solar Division

Internal Stakeholders: Engineering Teams, Design Teams, Project Execution Team, HODs

External Stakeholders: Solar Manufacturer and customer, Government/Discom Officials, Vendors, Consultants

 

 Profile: Ideally -

·        B.Tech / M.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Industrial Engineering (preferred specialization in Renewable Energy or Solar PV)

·        Minimum 10+ years in manufacturing, with proven expertise in setting up solar module plants and production lines.

·        Should have hands-on exposure to C&I rooftop solar or utility-scale solar manufacturing projects

·        Experience in high-throughput, automated manufacturing environments.

Requisites:

·        In-depth knowledge of solar manufacturing processes, production line machinery, and quality control protocols

·        Comfortable with on-site factory visits, equipment audits, and vendor negotiations

 

 

·        Understanding of solar manufacturing plant setup, PV module assembly process, and automation systems.

·        Knowledge of equipment installation—stringers, laminators, testers, framing & junction box machines

·        Ability to understand client requirement and convert them in to prospect technical solutions by identifying pain point and process improvements required.
